Bagnoli Project

Bagnoli Project
SMART CITY
The Project aims to create the “Bagnoli Smart City”, as a set of infrastructures and monitoring and early warning systems capable of ensuring a high degree of resilience to climate change and hydrogeological instability, to the risks associated with bradyseism, while offering, at the same time, innovative services such as smart parking, smart transportation and smart lighting.
Smart irrigation makes it possible to recover rainwater and reuse it for irrigation and technological purposes through intelligent irrigation systems which, depending on the needs of tree species and microclimatic conditions, delivers only the water flows that are actually necessary.
The entire area is configured as a technological demonstrator to experiment with research and innovative applications thanks to the pervasive use of Big Data in the logic of the Internet of Things.
The full energy autonomy of the new “smart” buildings is achieved through the introduction of building and user management solutions that optimise their efficiency and through the production of electricity and thermal energy through the installation of low-enthalpy solar and geothermal renewable energy systems, which guarantee the coverage of residual energy needs.
BAGNOLI OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Invitalia supports a series of initiatives to open the site to the territory, with the aim of spreading knowledge, telling the story of the project in progress and sharing the beauty and historical value of the area:
- technical guided tours aimed at Italian and foreign delegations of universities, local and scientific bodies, schools, associations and local committees;
- photographic campaigns;
- documentaries, docufilms, TV series, short films;
- cultural events, also aimed at local schools.
