WHAT IT IS
Women’s Entrepreneurship is the programme that aims at disseminating the entrepreneurial culture among women and increasing their presence in the world of work and business, especially in the scientific and technological fields.
It is managed by Invitalia, on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Prime Minister’s Office
The programme is active throughout Italy, with particular attention to the Southern Regions.
Support for women’s empowerment and the fight against gender discrimination are a cross-cutting priority of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which has allocated € 400 million for the Investment “Creation of women’s businesses” with the aim of raising the levels of women’s participation in the labour market and creating a cultural climate conducive to the development of women’s entrepreneurship.
To achieve these objectives, in addition to the financial benefits for women’s businesses, the Women’s Entrepreneurship programme has been launched, which provides for three lines of intervention:
- promotion, communication and guidance
- training and dissemination of entrepreneurial culture
- dissemination of STEM values and professions
The initiatives, launched in October 2023, are expected until the end of 2026.
The initiative is implemented with institutional partners to achieve the set objectives in a broader and more consistent way.
