BASF, the worlds leading chemical company has announced that its turnover in Italy amounts to 2,812 million euro (+ 30% compared to 2009). The company reported figures in a statement specifying that for BASF Italy is the fifth largest market in the world. "we are satisfied with this result," said Erwin Rauhe, CEO for Italy and Southern Europe, "because in markets still affected by the global crisis and with so much uncertainty, all our sectors have developed in a positive manner." The 2010 result was positive both for the chemical sector, which posted a 23% rise in growth, and for the Oil&Gas and Other Activities sector which improved by 34%. Analysis of BASF's results at a global level indicates sales amounting to 63.9 billion euro.
