Incentives offered by Invitalia

If particular conditions occur, every logistics project can use incentives provided by the Development Contract and the Law 181/89.

A Development Contract is an agreement between the Ministry of Economic Development, Invitalia and one or more companies involved with a view to implementing “development projects” in:

  • industrial sector (a minimum of 30€ mln eligible expenditures)
  • tourism sector (a minimum of 22,5€ mln eligible expenditures)
  • commercial sector (a minimum of 30 € mln eligible expenditures)

Financial aids are granted in accordance with EU limits and requirements depending on the size of the companies and eligible areas (EU Aid 2007-2013 N. 324/2007)
Incentives are provided in the form of cash grants or soft loans as well as combinations of the two forms, depending on the conditions that will be established in the agreement between the subjects involved (Development contract)

Law 181/89 establishes a support mechanism for re-industrialising and revitalising industrial areas. The tool is entirely managed by Invitalia who handles all the stages of the procedure: it assesses business applications and defines project viability, manages aid disbursement and executes project monitoring.
