Photovoltaics Summit Europe in Rome

09 june 2009

The Photovoltaics Summit Europe will take place in Rome, Crowne Plaza Rome - St Peter's, on 30th June - 2nd July 2009 confirming Italy as a focus point for new investment.

The summit will focus on business aspects of photovoltaics and on how businesses can capitalise on the latest developments in this field.

As the PV sector in Europe continues to grow at double digit rates, supply is beginning to outstrip demand. Renewal of government subsidy schemes, and the associated uncertainty in future funding mean that PV operators are exploring new markets in lesser known regions.

Newer alternatives to standard crystalline silicon modules - this includes casting wafers instead of sawing, thin film, concentrator modules, 'Sliver' cells - and continuous printing processes are enabling more businesses to get involved with the solar energy market.

Due to economies of scale, solar panels are also getting more affordable for the wider population, with the cost and price being expected to drop in the coming years.

Participants will have a chance to interact with key players from all areas of the industry through networking sessions provided and get a chance to learn about new trends at the workshops held prior to the summit, it also will be an opportunity to get insight into the European and global photovoltaics markets and learn more about recent trends and developments.
